The Atlantic Torpedo (also known as the Torpedo Ray, the Torpedo, Torp, or ironically, the Pancake, referring to its resemblance to the food) is one of the 34 tier 10 animals in Deeeep.io. It is based on its real life counterpart, Tetronarce nobiliana. It is one of the animals a lionfish can evolve into, the other two being the Moray Eel and the Stonefish.
Introduction
The Atlantic Torpedo looked like it would never hurt a fly, but in reality, it is one of the most dangerous hunters in all of Deeeep.io. It has the ability to generate electricity, which it will never hesitate to use. With the use of boosts, it will activate its charged state. During this state, it will electrocute everything that it touches. The torpedo then closes in for the kill.
Although it is a really successful hunter, it is weak without its electrifying abilities and may be a prey itself. To counter this, the torpedo has the ability to dig, which it uses to hide from predators and recover from injuries.
Mechanics
- Lionfish evolve into Atlantic Torpedoes.
- 48,000 XP is required for a lionfish to evolve into an Atlantic Torpedo.
- Atlantic torpedoes do not evolve into any other animals, as they are a Tier 10 animal
- Atlantic torpedos drop meat upon death.
- As an Atlantic torpedo, friendly fire is turned off for all Tier 1 animals: meaning you cannot damage them nor be damaged by them.
Abilities
Active Abilities
- Like many other animals, the Atlantic Torpedo has a dash boost. Click to use a boost and dash forward for a short amount of distance.
Name | Image | Charge Time | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Dig | None | The Atlantic Torpedo has the ability to dig, but only when it uses the click boost. While digging, it moves in a slow 25% speed. It also loses oxygen at a fast rate in the ground. However, when it is staying still, it has a halved oxygen lose rate and can gradually regenerate its boosts. | |
Shock | 0.5 seconds | Briefly enter a "charged" state. Animals that touch you in this state take major recoil and get electrocuted, immobilizing them and dealing rapid damage.
You gain 50% armor while charged, although you are also invincible to almost all attacks. You also take little/no recoil in this state, and ignore armor and damage reflection. | |
Electrocute | 1 second | Essentially just a dash-boosting version of Shock. Particularly brutal if a target is against a wall. |
Passive Abilities
- Is not slowed by coral fans or table corals.

Electrifying Aura | When your boost bars are full, an aura appears around you, slowing down all animals in your radius by 5%. Useful for chasing. |
Suitable Biomes
- The suitable biome for the Atlantic torpedo is the ocean (Warm, Shallow, Salt). Atlantic Torpedo can breathe both air and water, and only loses oxygen when digging.
- If an Atlantic torpedo enters the arctic, it will lose temperature.
- If an Atlantic torpedo enters the deeeep, it will lose pressure.
- If an Atlantic torpedo enters the swamp, it will lose salinity.
- If an Atlantic torpedo enters the swamp surface, it will not regenerate salinity.
Diet
This is a complete list of food that pancakes can eat.
Name | Can be eaten by | Image | XP | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Barb | All except for the stonefish who spawned it | 0 | Spawns behind a stonefish using their active ability. Deals damage upon eating it (7% of max life). Poisons anyone who eats it with a base DPS of 10% that lasts 5 seconds (except poison-immune animals). Despawns after 4 seconds. | |
Bird Poop | All except for lamprey and seagull | 10 | Affected by gravity. Automatically spawns below any seagull every 10 seconds. | |
Plankton | All | 25 | Spawns in the ocean. | |
Ice | All | 50 | Spawns in the arctic and deeeep. | |
Volcano Food | All except lamprey | 125 | Affected by gravity, floats upwards. Spawns out of volcanoes, which can be hidden in and are located in the arctic and the deeeep. When eaten as an animal that is not suited to the arctic, it will replenish some of your temperature. | |
Person | Tier 9 to tier 10 except sunfish and stonefish | 300 | Spawns just above the water. Does not spawn in the arctic. | |
Flappy Duck | Ray to tier 10 | 675 | Spawns in a horizontal line just below the height limit. | |
Anglerfish Bait | All Animals except for the Anglerfish who spawned it | 0 | Spawns infront of an Angler Fish when it is stationary (as its passive ability). No fixed look, resembles the last food the Angler Fish eats. It does nothing too, but the Angler Fish will deal twice as much damage (100x2) to the animal that ate it | |
Meat | All | 1000 | Spawns where an animal dies (tier 2 to tier 10 animals only). The amount of meat that spawns depends on what animal it was. |
Hiding Places
This is a complete list of terrain that Atlantic torpedoes can hide in.
Name | Summary | Image |
---|---|---|
Giant Shipwreck | Generates in any biome, but have been found in the deep, swamp, and twilight kelp forest. All animals can hide here. Hiding places are ship windows and the crack. |
Strategy
Using
- Your charged boosts provide brief immunity to many types of attacks, and also electrocute animals, briefly stunning them. You can get electrocuted from your target however, should you touch them while the effect is active.
- Your fully charged boost is very powerful, and allows you to annihilate foes, especially near walls. However, keep in mind you only have 2 boosts. Missing a boost gives enough time for the opponent to get in a single attack on you.
- You can dig with a non-charged boost, albeit very slowly, but it can help you in sticky situations.
- Against enemies with ranged attacks or the ability to slow / stun you, you are at a slight disadvantage. However, if you get them near a wall and pin them, you can incinerate their health.
- Try not to get baited into boosting. You only have two boosts.
- Even though you are incredibly powerful, you are still vulnerable to teaming, so don't try to fight in a situation where you are outnumbered.
- Staying in the reef biome will help you survive, due to the numerous things present there.
- Reef corals can slow most of your enemies, but not you.
- You can pin enemies near walls due to the semi cramped nature of the reef.
- You can dig into reef ground.
Countering
- Bait its boosts. Since it has only 2, it can't afford to waste them.
- Animals like Beaked Whale and Goblin Shark can utilize their projectiles against the torpedo, as they have the advantage in range.
- Bowhead Whale, although it lives in the Arctic, can easily push away the Torpedo, and also use its Icebombs against it.
- Colossal Squids can backslap the torp after it goes back for food, and inflict hefty damage on it.
- In open-map gamemodes (FFA and TFFA), due to its low pressure time, Giant Squids can easily snag one down into the deeeep and pressurize it until it dies.
