The Basking Shark (in-game ID: baskingshark) is one of forty Tier 10 Animals in Deeeep.io. Its real-life counterpart, (Cetorhinus maximus), is the second largest shark in the ocean after the Whale Shark, like the former, it is a gentle filter feeder. The Basking Shark in game however, is a dangerous animal to pick a fight with.

Mechanics

Here are the mechanics that apply to the Basking Shark in the Free for All game mode. (Deeeep.io v4 [Snow and Below] Beta, 2022)

  • Wobbegong Sharks evolve into Basking Sharks, Tiger Sharks and Whale Sharks. 48,000XP is required for the Wobbegong Shark to evolve into these animals.
  • Basking Sharks are Tier 10 Animals which is at the top of the Evolutionary Tree. Tier 10 is the final level of evolution, meaning that Basking Sharks are unable to evolve further.
  • Like other Tier 10 Animals, friendly fire is turned off (friendly fire refers to the ability to attack another animal. If it is turned on, the said animals are able to hurt each other) against Tier 1 Animals (excluding Worms and Tier 1 Piranhas) as a Basking Shark.
  • Basking Sharks drop a skeleton and meat upon death [the quantity of meat drop by every tier has to be calculated one day].

Abilities

Each animal has its own unique abilities. The Basking Shark’s ability is to enter a rage mode, where it will receive armour, speed buffs and emits a radial blast every time it hits an animal. This ability will make the Basking Shark extremely powerful if used correctly.

Active Abilities

  • Like most animals in the game, the Basking Shark is able to dash boost. Normal boosting as a Basking Shark and cause you to impulse yourself forward. Targets hit by a dashing animal will receive +25% damage (in this case, ) .
  • The Basking Shark also has a charged boost.
Name Image Charge Time Description
Basking Shark's Rage Mode Basking Blast 500 MS As a Basking Shark, fully charging and releasing its boost will consume a boost bar and cause you to enter your Rage Mode for 5 seconds. During this period, you will receive 25% armour, +20% (into 120%) speed and emit a Radial Blast with a size of 7m² units every time you hit an enemy animal.

The Radial Blast knocks away (applies for every animal) and deals the Basking Shark's current damage to every enemy in range. This allows the Basking Shark to take on multiple targets at once.

Passive Abilities

  • The Basking Shark is the only animal which is able to dash and immune to grabs at the same time. Dash boosts helps it to escape quickly, while grab immunity works well against grabbers. This makes the Basking Shark one of the best survivors in Deeeep.io.

Suitable Biomes

Each animal will at least have three types of habitat that is suitable for them to live in. The biome they are in must have at least one similar trait out of each habitat class for it to be suitable for the animal to live in. Suitable habitats for a Basking Shark are Cold/Warm, Salt and Shallow Waters.

  • If a Basking Shark leaves a Salt habitat, it will lose salinity.
  • If a Basking Shark leaves a Shallow habitat, it will lose pressure.
  • If a Basking Shark gets out of the water, it will lose oxygen.
