This is the original version of the page '''Basking Shark''', including in-game mechanics, real-life facts and medias about the animal written in British English. To enjoy the page to the fullest, use a PC to view it. <tabber> |-|Overview= {{Animal | name = Basking Shark | image = Basking_Shark.png | speed = 100% (max 120% if charged boost is used) | walking speed = N/A | health = 10.0 (1000) | damage = 7.0 (140) | armor = 0% (25% if charged boost is used) | armor penetration = 0% | bleeding reduction= 0% | damage reflection = 0% | boosts = 3 | size scale = 2.1x | oxygen time = 15 seconds | temperature time = 10 seconds | pressure time = 25 seconds | salinity time = 15 seconds | sprite designer = ⫷Ꮆ.Ꮆûᗩяᕲ⫸ | concept creator = ⫷Ꮆ.Ꮆûᗩяᕲ⫸ }} The '''Basking Shark''' (in-game ID: ''baskingshark'') is one of forty Tier 10 Animals in Deeeep.io. Its real-life counterpart, (''Cetorhinus maximus''), is the second largest shark in the ocean after the [[Whale Shark]], like the former, it is a gentle filter feeder. The '''Basking Shark''' in game however, is a dangerous animal to pick a fight with. ==Mechanics== Here are the mechanics that apply to the '''Basking Shark''' in the Free for All game mode. (Deeeep.io v4 [Snow and Below] Beta, 2022) *[[Wobbegong Shark|Wobbegong Sharks]] evolve into '''Basking Sharks''', [[Tiger Shark|Tiger Sharks]] and [[Whale Shark|Whale Sharks]]. 48,000XP is required for the Wobbegong Shark to evolve into these animals. *'''Basking Sharks''' are Tier 10 Animals which is at the top of the Evolutionary Tree. Tier 10 is the final level of evolution, meaning that '''Basking Sharks''' are unable to evolve further. *Like other Tier 10 Animals, friendly fire is turned off (friendly fire refers to the ability to attack another animal. If it is turned on, the said animals are able to hurt each other) against Tier 1 Animals (excluding [[Worm|Worms]] and [[Piranha|Tier 1 Piranhas]]) as a '''Basking Shark'''. *'''Basking Sharks''' drop a skeleton and meat upon death [the quantity of meat drop by every tier has to be calculated one day]. ==Abilities== Each animal has its own unique abilities. The '''Basking Shark’s''' ability is to enter a rage mode, where it will receive armour, speed buffs and emits a radial blast every time it hits an animal. This ability will make the '''Basking Shark''' extremely powerful if used correctly. ===Active Abilities=== *Like most animals in the game, the '''Basking Shark''' is able to dash boost. Normal boosting as a '''Basking Shark''' and cause you to impulse yourself forward. Targets hit by a dashing animal will receive +25% damage (in this case, <math>140 damage + [140 damage \times \left ( \frac{25}{100} \right )] = 175 damage</math>) . *The '''Basking Shark''' also has a charged boost. {| class="wikitable" |- !Name!!Image!!Charge Time!! Description |- |'''Basking Shark's''' Rage Mode |[[File:Basking_Blast.png|250px|link=]] |500 MS |As a '''Basking Shark''', fully charging and releasing its boost will consume a boost bar and cause you to enter your Rage Mode for 5 seconds. During this period, you will receive 25% armour, +20% (into 120%) speed and emit a Radial Blast with a size of 7m² units every time you hit an enemy animal. </br> The Radial Blast knocks away (applies for every animal) and deals the Basking Shark's current damage to every enemy in range. This allows the '''Basking Shark''' to take on multiple targets at once. |} ===Passive Abilities=== *The '''Basking Shark''' is the only animal which is able to dash and immune to grabs at the same time. Dash boosts helps it to escape quickly, while grab immunity works well against grabbers. This makes the '''Basking Shark''' one of the best survivors in Deeeep.io. ==Suitable Biomes== Each animal will at least have three types of habitat that is suitable for them to live in. The biome they are in must have at least one similar trait out of each habitat class for it to be suitable for the animal to live in. Suitable habitats for a '''Basking Shark''' are Cold/Warm, Salt and Shallow Waters. * If a '''Basking Shark''' leaves a Salt habitat, it will lose salinity. * If a '''Basking Shark''' leaves a Shallow habitat, it will lose pressure. * If a '''Basking Shark''' gets out of the water, it will lose oxygen. ==Foods and Diet== Foods are entities that are essential for an animal to gain experience, evolve, heal and regenerate boosts. The table below shows the Diet of a '''Basking Shark'''. [unfinished] {| class="wikitable" |- ! Name !! Image !! Can be eaten by !!XP!! Each animal has different hiding places that are suitable for them. At most cases, the bigger the animal, the fewer the Hiding Places they can interact with. Below are the Hiding Places that can be used for the '''Basking Shark'''. {| class="wikitable" |- !Name !Summary !Image |- |Giant Shipwreck |The biggest prop of all. The table below shows the list of approved skins that can be used for the '''Basking Shark'''. === Non-seasonal Skins === Non-seasonal skins can be used in every time of the year. They are mostly based on real-life species, or adjectives such as 'Battle-Scarred' or 'Dark'. {| class="wikitable" |- !Name !Creator !ID !Price !Date Created !Stats Changing !Description !Image |- |Bone Shark |BlueFish |5667 |150 [[File:4f09f15223392e3a5a92e284228ee53b.png|20px]] |2rd September, 2021 |rowspan="3"| False |An old sailor’s name for basking shark |{{#tag:tabber|Normal= [[File:5667-5.png|frameless|center|100px]] {{!}}-{{!}} Rage= [[File:Bone Shark Ability.png|frameless|center|100px]] }} |- |Pacific Basking Shark |Myhaliot |5676 |125 [[File:4f09f15223392e3a5a92e284228ee53b.png|20px]] |26th April, 2021 |N/A |{{#tag:tabber|Normal= [[File:5676-2.png|frameless|center|100px]] {{!}}-{{!}} Rage= [[File:Pacific Basking Shark Ability.png|frameless|center|100px]] }} |- |Inshore Basking Shark |Hoppers |5671 |125 [[File:4f09f15223392e3a5a92e284228ee53b.png|20px]] |21st July, 2021 |This shark is very unique as it is green. |{{#tag:tabber|Normal= [[File:5671-5.png|frameless|center|100px]] {{!}}-{{!}} Rage= [[File:Inshore Basking Shark Ability.png|frameless|center|100px]] }} |} === Seasonal Skins === Seasonal skins can only be used in certain seasons, such as Christmas, Lunar New Year etc. They will disappear from the Store once the Season is over, but will be back next year, and remain in the player's inventory if they bought them. {| class="wikitable" |- !Name !Creator !ID !Price !Date Created !Season !Description !Image |- |Firecrackers |LeasTears |10052 |0 [[File:4f09f15223392e3a5a92e284228ee53b.png|20px]] |14th January, 2022 |Lunar New Year |collab with Ftyk(u/Ansarjan) |{{#tag:tabber|Normal= [[File:10052-1.png|100px|center]] {{!}}-{{!}} Rage= [[File:10052-1-angrybaskingshark.png|100px|center]] }} |- |Peppermint Bark Basking Shark |Spoopy |9433 |0 [[File:4f09f15223392e3a5a92e284228ee53b.png|20px]] |18th December, 2021 |Christmas |bruh i forgot to make this single dot symmetrical its fixed now |{{#tag:tabber|Normal= [[File:9433-2.png|100px|center]] {{!}}-{{!}} Rage= [[File:9433-2-angrybaskingshark.png|100px|center]] }} |- |The Experiment |Bluefish |8653 |0 [[File:4f09f15223392e3a5a92e284228ee53b.png|20px]] |21st October, 2021 |Halloween |After years of being tortured in a secret facility, it’s finally free to have its revenge |{{#tag:tabber|Normal= [[File:8653-4.png|100px|center]] {{!}}-{{!}} Rage= [[File:8653-4-angrybaskingshark.png|100px|center]] }} |} ==History== OUTDATED!!! The skins released for basking are: the Bone Shark, the Pacific Basking Shark and the Inshore Basking Shark. *The Basking Shark is called bone sharks by the sailors in the past. It is also known as elephant shark, sail-fish and sun-fish.<ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basking_shark</ref> *The Basking Sharks skins glow in a different colors in their rage mode. For example, the Bone Shark glows blue, while the original one glows red. However, all of their radial blast are red in color. It is unsure whether it is initial or an inaccuracy. ==References== <references /> |-|Tips and Tricks= |-|Gallery= </tabber> [[Category:Animals]] [[Category:Fish]] [[Category:Cold blooded]] [[Category:Cartilaginous fish]] [[Category:Vertebrates]]
